It would be great news, if drupal.org shares with us how they set their plans and tasks to upgrade their site to version 6
I mean we all want to upgrade our sites and drupal.org is a great example for us and we want to follow their successful steps.

Do you think guys that they will share it with us ?

http://drupal.org/project/issues/infrastructure should have some of the posts about what happened during the upgrade to drupal 6.

This site does use a lot of custom modules that most sites wouldn't have to use. Thousands of sites use the steps in the upgrade.txt file that comes with drupal with absolutely amazing results!

If you have specific questions about the upgrade, I'm sure someone would answer them.

Basically I just consider Drupal.org upgrade is like a huge technical event that needs to be followed,
like challenges they faced at:
design & scope
DB migration
Service Priorities

I do think that the upgrade news will generate traffic and positive input from many many users.
Don't tell me your wont mind being closer to the action ;)
