I am using the fckEditor module. There doesn't appear to be an option to change the colour of the font on here. How is that done? Using html tags??

Hi,

You have to go in admin/settings/fckeditor, and click on 'edit' a profile , in the 'Editor appearance' change 'Toolbar:' to 'Drupalfull' for example.

Update profile and now you should see in your FCKeditor toolbar an icon , a big 'T' with colors to choose the font-color!

Amazing!

I did this and everything is working perfectly...on a Drupal 6.10
If everything is gone, just put everything back as it was before...sorry.

But it is working by me!

I but everything back the way it was. Still no luck. I tried taking the module off and putting it back on again...but still no luck...the text editor will not appear now.

I sorted it in the end. I used the WYSIWYG module instead. Within this you have the option to choose which editor you actually want to use as the text editor. Here I chose FCKEditor. So all is good. I just cant use the FCKEditor module itself.
