Issue Summary
Is it possible in any way to offer spam protection on the block form? I have a customer who is getting hammered with fake user entries, which of course she then has to delete, sometimes hundreds a day.
So, I am just wondering if there is a way to protect the form, like Mollom does with other forms, from fake user submittals?
Thanks!

I'll have to think about this one. I can see where you're coming from, that would be annoying. I wonder if it would be better for there to be a good way to have the lists need email confirmation. At the moment that is a bit sketchy because when I check to see if someone is subscribed, if they haven't done the email confirmation, it says they aren't subscribed, instead of just knowing they are already in the process of subscribing.
If I could make that a bit of a smoother process, would that work for you?
All you would have to do is set the list to be a double opt-in. That way, if they were fake registrations, eventually if they don't confirm, they just disappear.
Cheers,
Steph

Steph, that sounds like it will work for me, I will check with the client. Their big concern is "no barriers" to using their site, in other words they don't want to make people log in, or anything of that nature because they are afraid that will lose people, but I don't think this is too big a barrier to getting them signed up.
Thanks!

I'm going to assume the suggested fix did the job.

Heh, actually, I am no longer on that project so I am no longer trying to pursue an answer. Thanks!
