Issue Summary

Hi. The FAQ module is great. However, the categorization features don't quite meet my needs.

Is there any automated way to do the following:
(1) By default, show the full FAQ list without categorization (e.g., I use "Clicking on question takes user to answer further down the page")
(2) Dynamically create sub-menus under FAQ, one per category, which then uses the same styles selected for (1), but only showing the FAQ entries specific to the selected category? (e.g. if you have 5 categories, dynamically create menu entries with the appropriate name which point to /faq/1 through /faq/5)

I ask because our default FAQ list "tells a story" - there is a logical reason for looking through all of them in order. For people wanting general information about the business, reading through the full FAQ in the selected order helps sell the services. Showing them only in a categorized order removes that narrative flow. However, having categories available does help targeted searches.

Another option would be to allow for different faq question settings based upon whether you want to see the full list, or category-specific lists.

As is, if I turn off categorization (to get the desired front-page features), then /faq/1 shows the proper title, but doesn't filter the FAQ entries to just those in category 1, so I can't even manually create properyl-working sub-menus

Thanks in advance.

I need to consider your first request. However for the 2nd one, that's not within the scope of the faq module, but you should check out the Taxonomy Menu module.

Stella-

To better clarify, I'm most interested in having this combination of functionality:
(1) Have a top-level page (e.g. /faq) which shows all FAQ entries, ordered by creation date (desc) (e.g. not a summary page listing how many FAQ entries are present per category).
(2) Have category-specific pages (e.g. /faq/services), which show just those FAQ entries having that category (taxonomy entry).
(3) For both, use the Table of Contents-type style (e.g. ordered-list of questions, with hyperlinks to anchors further down the page).

Is that sort of functionality in scope of your project (e.g. use categories, but select to show all FAQ entries on the main page, rather than a summary)?

I am going to second this request :-) I couldn't of said it better @tw176

I've added a new "don't display" category layout - needs a better name though... With this display, all faqs are shown on the main faq page, but the categorized faq pages are still available.
