Nothing pretty here. We're just using the base Kubrick theme, but looks were not the most important element to us initially.
When I needed to get a website off the ground quickly for organizational site of the new blog carnival Carnival of the Liberals, choosing Druapl was a natural. While many have complained about Drupal's lack of an installer I've found that once you've installed a couple Drupal sites it takes less than 10 minutes to go from zero to a complete and working site. Add in another 10-30 minutes to install the modules and themes necessary and it's possible to have a full featured website in under an hour.
Drupal's quick and easy setup means that you can concentrate on the important tasks of organizing and developing content rather than marking-up XHTML.
I should also mention, if any of you are into blogging from a liberal perspective, Carnival of the Liberals is open for submissions for CotL 1. Stop on by and submit your best blog post from within the past couple of weeks.

Just a couple of the "If I were you" suggestions...
I'd go into admin and remove the submitted/date for your pages. (about, volunteer, etc.) Just to tidy it up.
Nice logo, btw.
You haven't jumped on the "progressive" bandwagon? (I thought about this when I read your "thinking liberally" slogan in your header. Thinking Progressivey sounds good too.)

Thanks!
Thanks for the compliment on the logo. I threw that together this afternoon sometime after I posted here at Drupal. Used a piece of "found" art on the web and did the rest myself in Photoshop.
Hah! I actually do usually refer to myself as 'progressive' but lately I've become a little frightened at the adulteration of that word. Besides, I really think it's time we take back the word 'liberal'. It's been so demonized by the Republican party that it's lost all of its' original meaning. In fact, I daresay that there are many on the left who call themselves 'progressive' who do not really understand liberalism as a political philosophy.
Oh, good point on turning off the submitted/date lines. It's not necessary. I'll go do that.
BTW: I should note that at the time I'm typing this we've had 71 referrals from Drupal.org so far. One of these days I'll have to actually announce my other site here.
