This is for http://www.copyrightmyths.org/, which is running Drupal 4.6.3. Our RSS aggregator is enabled as a left-side block, and clicking on the little orange "XML" button brings you to http://www.copyrightmyths.org/node/feed.
Our problem is that the site title in the RSS XML has an unwanted hyphen:
<title>CopyrightMyths.org - </title>
This hyphen used to separate the site title from the slogan, but we got rid of of the slogan, because it was taking up too much space in the RSS summary. The slogan is gone, but somehow the hyphen remains. (Or maybe the hyphen has nothing to do with the former slogan, I don't know.)
Anyone know how we should get rid of that hyphen? I didn't see any existing forum questions on this particular topic, though some came close.
Thanks,
-Karl

It's hardcoded!
i've found the following code in node.module:
'title' => variable_get('site_name', 'drupal') .' - '. variable_get('site_slogan', ''),You could open your favorite texteditor and search for this line.
Change it to
'title' => variable_get('site_name', 'drupal'),This should solve your Problem for now, but with the next update your changes will be overwritten.
Wow.
Thanks for the detective work! I guess I should learn how to submit a patch to Drupal; after all, this would be easy to fix, just make it conditional on the result of variable_get('site_slogan', '').
Patch submitted.
Okay, patch submitted at http://drupal.org/node/38994.
Patch apparently committed now.
According to http://drupal.org/node/38994#comment-114250, the fix has been committed now. Case closed.
