importing a query from a local server file

I have the following suggestion for the dba module (which incidently I think is one of those little 'invaluable' tools!)
I want something that's between 'run script' and 'query' where you can point to a file that already exists on the server that drupal is located on and import that directly into the db. An example (as with most mods that need a database mod) grab the .mysql file and manually ftp it into the required location, and then just run a 'run local script' feature.
After sending an email out, I got this response which is another way to approach it.
"This sounds useful. I think the best thing to do would be to have a button/checkbox/something-like-that on the "run script" page allowing the user to choose if the script is on their local computer, or on the remote server."
Either way is appropriate. I would have a directory that I would upload my original script file to, and hopefully this could be configurable within the dba module, or you could type the whole directory structure from the drupal home dir.
I do think there is a need for this, and that is when creating large backup files, it is not possible to use the http import feature as the server will often time out. I can access the server by ftp and place the file anywhere I need, then by going to the appropriate dba page, I could be able to import the database (the WHOLE database!)
There MAY be an issue with this also timing out... Just something that may need to be considered.
Possibly even unziping the file also would be a benefit, if I could just upload the zip file and have the server un-gzip it.
Hopefully this isn't too big a request ;^)
