I'm looking for a module that will produce and expose to views module image previews of the first page of a PDF document that has been uploaded using a filefield. I was drawn to this module because I saw that it implemented the image preview part of my requirements, but I don't think it exposes them to views. Also, it does more than I think I need - I don't think I need the per-document stamping facility for example, but perhaps I could use the module without using the stamping functionality.

Before I go off and write my own code, and perhaps publish it as a drupal module, I was wondering whether you'd be interested in developing the sort of idea outlined above as part of the module? If so, I would take a proper look at the code, and perhaps submit some patches.

Also, the site I'm would potentially like to implement this for is in drupal 6, so I was wondering what your plans for supporting drupal 6 were.

We're working on a D6 port for this one. We should be done in 7 days time. Also regarding the view enabling of the module, we're not working on it at the moment. We'd appreciate if you can contribute a patch to make the module views enabled.

Apologies for the absence from this issue. Having done a bit more exploration, it turns out that with some tweaks to imageapi module and imagecache module, filefield and views will be able to do the job of previews of PDF files. The planned program of patches is at: #366373: PDF support ( i.e. convert PDF to JPG support).

I think this is the best way forward for my needs, so I won't be able to contribute to pdfstamper after all. I won't be at all offended if someone closes this request, but I'll leave it open in case you'd like to carry on the discussion.
