Does this module require Json support on server? because it is working fine on local server running MAMP which has JSON support but not on my host which doesn't? or i'm i wrong and it maybe something else. Basically the module templates are rendering fine on MAMP but on live site it only shows image and effect but no images that makes up the template styling.

No the module does not need JSON support on the server.
JSON syntax is just used for custom Cycle plugin settings.
