I'd like to take over maintainership of this module since I've received no response from the maintainer after notifying of an available backport. There's also been no new activity for some time. Unable to add the backport, which also improves on the original module, I'm hosting it on BitBucket: http://bitbucket.org/tmallen/tooltips/

Attached to this request is an archive of the backport.

Title: Maintainership of this module » Tool Tips appears to be abandoned
Project: Tool Tips » Drupal.org site moderators
Version: 6.x-1.x-dev »
Component: Code » Project ownership

http://drupal.org/project/tooltips

This project seems pretty abandoned.

  • The maintainer has never responded to an issue
  • The project's been in 'dev' since its inception
  • No CVS messages since October 22, which was three weeks after the initial upload
  • I tried to contact the maintainer after backporting the module about a month ago and never got a response.

Also, the frontend code is not in the best shape and the module's fundamentally broken (the tool tip link is built using l('#') which gets escaped, making the link go to a non-existent location).

I have a backport to 5.x ready at http://bitbucket.org/tmallen/tooltips/ , and I would migrate my improvements back to 6.x. I also have plans to make the module easier to administer, theme, etc.

Please let me know if I need to provide anything else!

Thanks,
Thomas

Thomas, your request seems just but first you need to apply for a CVS account at http://drupal.org/cvs-account

There is the off-chance that those all require JavaScript...

@chx: Thanks, I've applied for one. Hopefully, it's accepted.
