I have to start by saying I love this theme. THANK YOU!

I have had a few users of my site (olacinc.org) ask me to increase the size of the area where the text goes. They said they had a lot of empty space on the screen around the information. (My computer looks perfect - but then I have an older monitor) Some of my navigation links spill over into the center column and the center column itself is a bit narrow for the text being displayed on some of my pages. So I'd like to be able to widen each of the columns just a bit so there is less background showing on both sides. The top and bottom are fine.

I am new to drupal and understand enough about CSS to know that's were I would need to tweak things. However I do not understand CSS enough to figure out what I need to do to get the desired results. Can someone give me some hints of how I could alter this without destroying my site.

Unfortunately, this is a fairly complicated process, as you will need to modify few images in photoshop, as well as many css rules..
On the other hand, I tend to agree, this theme is too narrow, and my objective is to widen it on the next release, to reach at least the 1000px (instead of a cheap 878px !!). I will also try to find a way to make it easy to change the center column width.

These are massive changes of the theme, and I might not submit them right away, but if time is not a problem, the only thing that you have to do is wait :)

I am very glad there are people out there like you who create all these wonderful applications, themes, modules, etc. So people like me can actually create a nice web page.

You can now try the version 2 of Painted for 6, it is now super easy to change the size of any column. It is still in DEV, but am working on the remaining bugs.
