Pathauto alias not set for added or imported terms

When adding or importing terms the alias is not generated. I need to run Pathauto bulk update after adding terms.

Is this normal or a bug - not sure since I haven't used this module previously.

Not a huge big deal but would be nice since I plan to have multiple users adding terms and the breadcrumbs for taxonomy/term pages in my site are generated from the URL - which means breadcrumbs are a bit rooted without the path alias until I manually run the bulk update (we're slowly building a taxonomy with a few hundred thousand terms).
