Not for the moment since I don't need it, if you want multiple file uploads have a look at #322473: Image FUpload: CCK integration, normally it wil be released somewhere this week.

If you want you may always port it to 6.x

Image FUpload is officially proposed as an alternative in the project's page as well. It does not support uploading .zip files containing images, but offers multiple file upload nevertheless (uses swfupload).
