Hi,

I'm using the XML Sitemap module. I sometimes want to add pages but I don't want Google to pick them up yet. Is there a way to mark a page so it would not be added to sitemap.xml?

Just click "Not in site map" in "Site map settings" on the node you do not wish to incorporate in the sitemap.

there's also a way to do this through google webmaster tools, google: "webmaster tools" and the first video is about doing this, or it was last week...I didn't pay much attention cuz I didn't need it at the time so I can't really tell you much about it

use robot.txt file to tell google/other search engine to not picking certain page(s)

This forum is for folks who are extending Drupal's functionality by writing custom modules. The moderator has asked that you place support questions in the issue queue of corresponding module (i.e, SiteMap)

Your question is a support issue not a module development issue. Please post in the appropriate place :)
