Hi,

I have suddenly discovered a major problem; I'm suddenly unable to change permissions on users.

To remedy the problem I have tried to roll back to a restore some days earlier, where I am sure I was able to change permissions... But it hasn't changed the situation any...

I have Googled and looked around in here for any similar issues. But I can find nothing that resembles my problem.

Since the problem occurred and from a when things where working fine, I have installed the SimpleNews Module (+SimpleNews_digest, SimpleNews_register and SimpleNews_statistics). I have tried disabling these modules, but with no apparant success. No changes...

Could these modules have anything to do with my user_permission problem?

I tried to run the Update.php and the Content Management/Post settings to flush user permissions. Nothing helped.

Any ideas of what is going on in my DB...?

Please anyone. I am at a loss here.

Greetings from Denmark

BR

Morten

can you explain a little more?
i am having problems when i submit the permissions form.
i get error 403 forbidden
You don't have permission to access /web/admin/user/permissions on this server.
Apache DAV/2 mod_python/3.3.1 Python/2.5.2 Server at xxx Port 80
after that i can reload the page and there is not a problem.
but i am able to change permissions one by one throught the role.

i hope it helps :)

Hi,

When I am in the permissions page and edit/change them - click save. Nothing is changed when page is reloaded. Normally I have been used to the page to reload with my new saved settings.

Things are 'stale' in the persmissions page. I cannot seem to alter anything and get the changes to implement (and show).

PS. Thanks a lot. Through the Role admin I can change the permissions. These save fine. So I can change them one at a time. Strange that I cannot change anything on the full view permissions page....

Puzzled...

Thanks

Morten

Hello,

I'm having a similar issue as well:

with admin user, i've got the problem when i submit the general permissions form (several role):
i get error 403 forbidden
You don't have permission to access /web/admin/user/permissions on this server.

In the logs, it's like i'm trying to access the page with anonymous user:
Type access denied
Date mardi, 28. septembre 2010 - 15:47
Utilisateur Anonyme
Emplacement web/admin/user/permissions?destination=admin%2Fuser%2Fpermissions
Référent web/admin/user/permissions

I need to log again (admin).

I only can modify permissions by role (admin/user/permissions/5 for example)

thanks in advance,

I have the exact same problem.
But I have also the errors for other admin pages:
Location admin/reports/dblog
Location admin/settings/language
Location admin/build/translate/overview

I wonder if anybody got any solution for this issue (403 forbidden error when trying to change user permissions)... Same is happening to me now...

Thank you very much,

Javi

I can see that this issue with the permissions is escalating...
I've tested a file upload.. and it was uploaded in sites/default/files.. now i can't delete the file...
i even tried to change permissions and delete it via my sites's cpanel...

no success... :S

See this post http://drupal.org/node/1204642

I can change every other permission. Mine suddenly happened after installing facebook module. One of its settings I cannot change. Happens to be the most important one, for now I can't use it.

THE VERY LITTLE AGENCY

Hi,

Was dogged for three hours with this and finally figured out that it was the Themes Editor module (Theme Editor 6.x-1.4) permissions that were causing the error. Whenever I tried to enable any of them I could no longer save the permissions page, and would get a "page not found" error.

As soon as I disabled the module, the problem went away.

Hope this helps someone.

See http://2bits.com/drupal/drupal-not-saving-admin-pages-large-number-input... for details on a common cause of this problem and how to fix it.

A workaround is to access the role-specific permissions page (linked from the roles admin page). Doing so reduces the number of inputs on the page and so in many cases will allow the form to correctly submit and save.
