I built a site in drupal/Garland. I made some minor format edits to some of the views with the view templates just to change some font sizes. Everything looked good in firefox. Before I launched, I checked it in IE and it looked terrible with font sizes all over the place (I had never looked at it in IE so I don't know if it was ever good in IE). Anyhow, I took out the view theme template edits - this fixed the worst issues, but still much of the text was now in Times instead of Verdana (only in IE - it was fine in firefox). Since then I have spent days, reinstalling drupal, rebuilding the views etc. but to no avail - still looks good in firefox, bad in IE. I have looked at the stylesheets; IE is inheriting the basic body style from somewhere and firefox is getting verdana from another sheet - but I'm not a css expert, and with at least 13 stylesheets involved, I can't figure out what to edit, even if that were a good idea. One example; on one page the blocks (views) in the RH column are fine - in Verdana - until I add back the content block (which is another view) - then the blocks on the right revert to Times New Roman.... I cannot figure this out.

I have reinstalled drupal and the themes, but the problem appears as soon as I import the database, so I presume the problem emanates from the data, so now I am loooking at rebuilding the website. I have lost a week; this would lose me anther one. Any suggestions gratefully received.

(Can't show the site at the moment because I am waiting on the hosting service to raise the php limit so I can reinstall - they have done this 5 times now this week, but for some reason they can't explain, the limit goes back to 8M within about an hour - so I have to ask and wait every time....)

Hi Tim

This is very common problem across popular different browsers. Its nothing to do with Drupal or PHP configuration. It css problem only. I think you need css guy's help or if you can handle it your own then go some browser compatible stuffs. It will help you sure. I can suggest you about your css stuff if I can see your site.

Thanks

OK, I should have asked earlier. I will try and get the site back up. This is a different question, but perhaps you can answer anyway - I have now reinstalled Drupal twice, with the aim of starting again, but the login it gives me has no admin rights, so every page I try to access to set up the site says "you are not authorized to access this page" As you can see I am getting in a complete mess ..... but if I can set it up again, i know I can reimport the data and get back to where I was, and then (probably about 3 hours from now) I would love to ask you to look at the rendering problems and perhaps point me to the css that needs fixing. If you can't answer the login problem, I'll put a separate post.

thanks again
