I reinstalled drupal 6.10.

The installation sent me to a page to register an account and then emailed me a password. But the account doesn't; seem to have the rights to access any of the site maintenance pages, so I can't build it. (it says "You are not authorized to access this page. ")

I checked the DB and this login is userID 3 - there is a placeholder for userID 1 which I presume is what I need.

Am I missing something dumb?

Before you reinstalled, did you clear your database tables or at least use a new database?
