I'm using D6. Just installed and ran Mass Contact this morning. Great module. But it evidently doesn't work unless at least two email groups exist.
I'm a college newspaper adviser. I have a list of registered users who are Reporters that I need to be able to contact. So I set up a Mass Contact "All reporters" group. Then I went to the Mass Contact menu, composed the email, hit send. It looked like it worked, but the email evidently didn't actually go out.
So I set up a second email group, this one called "All editors." Now when I went to the Mass Contact menu, I'm given the option of selecting "All reporters" and/or "All editors." I composed the email, selected "All reporters" and hit Send. This time the email went out to all reporters.
That makes me think there's something in the module looking for the Select box, which only exists when more than one email contact group exists.

oadaeh commentedThis module is supposed to work the same whether there is only one or more than one category. There was a feature request to not display the category list when there was only one category some time ago, and that is why you don't see anything if there is only one category. However, the fact that it does not send when there is only one category is new behavior that I will have to look into.
