hi
I have a website on a share hosting they gave me max 4.5% cpu
they just suspended my account (and put it back on)
I just found out about Godaddy Grid hosting as they said your website will use multiple servers instead of one
does anyone tried it?
I don't know much about servers do you think their system will take care of that server overload thing?
you can found out about the grid hosting here

I am planning to maybe transfer my site there but i don't know much about grid hosting

Compared with Shared Hosting,
Compared with Shared Hosting, Grid Hosting provides increased availability and scalability. It's designed to match performance with demand. Take a look a look at the following FAQ for more clarification on Grid.

thank you for the reply.
i am not very familiar with server stuff. question do you think i can host a drupal website on godaddy grid hosting?
Also when they say "Grid
Also when they say "Grid Hosting supports aliased domains,"
what does that mean exactly?
can i have something like
www.painexam.com
www.qbazaar.com in the same grid hosting account?
Get a host that doesn't
Get a host that doesn't overload their servers and gives you what you paid for with out fancy wording in their TOS. Don't go with the brand name domain/hosting companies. I've always heard Cartika http://www.cartikahosting.com are a good choice to go with. I've also used Dotable (before UK2) bought them out and have and they were pretty good.
Having said that if your site becomes popular/busy you will out grow most shared hosting providers and you'll either have to go with a VPS or a dedicated server.
Grid hosting was bad for our
Grid hosting was very bad for our website. I mean, Godaddy's service is still in beta, and perhaps this will change in the coming months, but we were forced to go with a different plan because our drupal website had consistent downtime, sometimes for as long as 5 minutes, and pretty much every day.
Even more pernicious, we had downtime for different people in different parts of the country...and at one point I had a tech on the phone telling me that our site was intermittant on their machines connecting DIRECTLY to the data center, not even through the internet, but through their own intranet.
I have no idea what the deal is with it, and I was sold on it by a customer rep, but I would ABSOLUTELY and without reservation say to avoid it until they work out their issues and can provide a reliable service.
Again, I'm not being a lemon, and I had two or three service tickets filed without resolution. I was told other people were experiencing problems as well, and that there was no status update page to learn what was being done about it, or timeframe for a fix.
Hope this helps!

Had major server issues with GoDaddy shared hosting whenever the site got busy - white pages of death, 503 errors etc.
Just switched into the Grid Hosting.
Everything seems fine and also faster.
Keeping fingers crossed.
Ok, been a couple
Ok, been a couple weeks.
Things seemed real fast at first, but now I'm getting problems again (seems slow, site offline etc).
Funny the tech guy told me the same thing - that things should be running faster.
Then he said they are working on the server and it could take up to 72 hours.
Next, he said I should move by site to a dedicated server which is 10x more money.
I think if you run a drupal site with not many mods and basically not a lot of traffic, something like a blog, this is fine. However, then I don't know why you would even bother using Drupal and not stick to something easier like Word Press.
When you start getting a bit of traffic and/or add lots of mods to increase functionality - shared or grid hosting isn't the way to go.
Add to that, Godaddy caps how many connections your site gets depending on your hosting plan. I think it can range anywhere from 100-600. If your site tops google, I would think you are missing out on a lot of traffic.
At $6 bucks a month, I guess you get what you pay for.
*Almost forgot, one of their tech guys told me the site had too many head requests and they weren't going to do anything about it. This was before I switched to grid hosting - and the guy didn't even recommend that. Phone call was basically over after he told me that. Sounded like he talked to the tech guys and they said the site was taking too much of a load from their servers.
