I have installed the latest and can not seem to get things to work. It creates the Advanced book block for my book but when I enable it I get nothing. Any ideas?

PixelClever commentedYou gotta be more specific if you want help. Make sure that the books in question are published and that at least one of the books has been set as a top level book in the book outline and that it is enabled in the configuration settings for that block.

artol commentedI also installed abbn to my site. I had one book existing. I tried to choose its category and then selected mass update, but the block did not appered in left sidebar even I had chosen so. Then I tried to modify book but this did not helped either. When I selected return to defaults, I got error:
warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /var/www/html/drupal6/includes/common.inc on line 874.
warning: strtr() [function.strtr]: The second argument is not an array in /var/www/html/drupal6/includes/common.inc on line 891.

PixelClever commentedOne of those errors was trivial and would hurt anything, but I did fix it along with a bug in the mass update option as of the 1.9 version. By the way the taxonomy settings are only one way to use the module if you are just getting started and you are having problems you should start with manually enabling the books and leave the enable setting as "automatically enable new books". Once you have that working you could get more specific from there.

drupalok commentedsame here... block can be activated but doesnt show up. can't give you any more infos... cause that's it :)
thanks
Comment #5
PixelClever commentedTry version 1.9. And in regards to giving more info. I am not having this happen on my installations, and the bugs that were related to the mass update were fixed in 1.9, so if you want help you have to provide a detailed step by step description of what you have done so far. Until then I am closing this issue.
If you want me invest time for a bug fix then you must at least invest time to write out a detailed bug report.

PixelClever commentedDon't subscribe to this issue. I am not working on this unless someone post a decent bug report that shows how this happens on your installation using version 1.9.
masood_mj commentedOh! excuse me,
I've downloaded this module from drupalmodules.org and I thought it was the latest version (it is 1.8), therefore I've subscribed to this issue. However, when I have downloaded the 1.9 version and installed it, the block DID NOT appear!!! I edited the the default book navigation block (just saved it again) and all is ok. This is the step by step reporting as you whish:
1. install the module
2. add the block
3. module does not appear
4. edit the config and save it
5. books appeared
I think it is not a bug anyway.
Thanks for the module

drupalok commentedsorry Aaron! i did not want to be rude or anything... i appreciate the good work you do! it was just that i did not do anything but activate the module and the block and it did not show up.
for future questions: should i include all modules i installed? or what exactly would you need as bug report?

PixelClever commentedIt may have been a bug depending on if you were using the mass update option. There were several issues fixed in 1.9.
Changing the name to avoid getting random post here.
