og calander vs calendar

Hi all,

I want to give each of my groups an own calander.
As i did some reading on both the calander_module and the og_module i believe that each of the modules
support this function.

But now which one to choose?

Is one better then the other and why?

I've only been exposed to the OG calendar module (which works perfectly for my groups). Ex. when you have a calendar block on a group page, the events are automatically filtered for that group. Simple, but very helpful feature.

I'll give OG calendar a try.
I would like to know if Calendar_module has some advantages on the OG version.

One thing i noticed is that og calendar needs the event_module which hasn't been ported to D6 yet.

Whereas Calendar is ready for D6.

Does anybody have experiences configuring Calandar_module for OG (every group a calander)?

I've been using the OG Calendar with the DEV snapshot of Event, and have not had a problem yet (going on 2 months of testing now). Every group has their own distinct calendar, and the events are filtered based on group membership.

There is even a generic "site" calendar that all visitors can see, and it will show one or more group related events depending on the user's memberships (independent of their group specific calendar). So far, so good! :)
