I like beer. So while I was at dogfish.com - I noticed that it was obviously a Drupal site. So then I searched for the lucky company that got to work on this project, and found http://tinyurl.com/cogk46">this blog post by the company that made it. In it they make reference to this "new system" that they built and how great it was, so I called them on it in the comments section, noting this "new system" was Drupal. I got a nice response, generally answering my question but also bragging on how they fixed "Drupal’s shortcomings." My general response is if there's so many shortcomings, why not share them and your fixes, and give back to the community that allowed you to even do this in the first place? Buy maybe that's just me.

Penny for your thoughts.

It's not required to give back. While giving back is community spirit it can't be governed. There are many custom modules in the wild that never make it back to the community as well.

GPL doesn't state that they have to.

"We also beat Acquia to the punch with pushing code updates to a remote site "

what does this mean ??? I was unable to comprehend!

I'm particularly interested in that and the multi-site config... Could care less about the modules.

stoptime, I think you have entirely (and troll'ishly) misunderstood the purpose and spirit of the blog post. The intention was not to upstage Drupal and pretend like the entire CMS system was made from scratch, but rather that the company was launching a new Drupal-based system/configuration much like Aquia. Saying that you "called them out on it" is pretty childish considering that you misunderstood the message from the beginning, and gives the false impression that they were in some way denying or concealing the fact that they were using Drupal, which was never the case. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about what you have incorrectly interpreted.
