We started this site just as Drupal 6 was launched and it has taken some time for the modules to catch-up with the site. We're still waiting for a few more modules to be ready for prime-time before we roll out the social networking and peer relationship components.
Basically, it's Drupal, CiviCRM, Organic Groups and a reliance on node reference/referrer, content access and a few other modules to hold things together. Our two biggest hurdles were creating a Technology Jobs Board that could tie in with our expanding Career Center and a developing educational program; and an Industry Directory to promote our member companies. CiviCRM provides the membership management and events registration for the site.
...and of course - we also produce the Maine Drupal User Group...
It is still a work in progress, but the site is now live...and ready for critiques and comments.
