how to CVS checkout modules with version info ?

HI,
I checkout modules from CVS are without Version info.
eg:
; Information added by drupal.org packaging script on 2009-01-28
version = "6.x-1.1"
core = "6.x"
project = "api"
datestamp = "1233184202"
how to checkout with above info. ?

I'm not sure i understand-- do you mean you use cvs checkedout modules in your site and they're missing module info? If so, use the http://drupal.org/project/cvs_deploy module. if not, try and explain the problem a little more...
