With this module enabled, all my comment dates show up as blank (aka December 1969.) When I turn it off, the comment dates are fine. Advice?

I suspect you need the patches for the Token module in #307520: Date formatting function and #325227: Provide e-mail and commenter homepage tokens for comments.
