First of all, I think this module's functionality should be really in core.

But since it is not, wouldn't it be better to be merged with globalredirect:
http://drupal.org/project/globalredirect

Falls under the exact same category, and it would be nice to cut down on the number of modules one needs to install and maintain. Also, one module will probably reach more people/sites than two.

Hmm, kind of different. Global Redirect is awesome though :-) .
