Hidden tabs not showing on Default selection

I chose a Default tab, then put a checkmark in the Hidden Tabs area and clicked submit. From what I understand, any item that is selected as Hidden will show in the default selected tab, but all it's doing is hiding the tabs themselves; not putting their information in the default tab.

Any advice?
