I hop with your module i can work around the
http://drupal.org/node/342144 bug (User profile not displayed in the order it is created). But I can't change the order of the category.

You might work that out by going to this module' s settings page: ?q=admin/settings/profile_category_weight

OR Administer->Site configuration -> Profile Category Weight
