I updated filefield and imagefield to beta1 today. After the update, I am no longer able to upload images or other files. There is no error message (in the log or on screen), the AHAH/AJAX throbber spins and the field block refreshes, but no file is uploaded (tried both txt and image files).
I have uninstalled filedfield and imagefield and re-enabled them. I have also tried adding new fields to see if that was the problem. The results have been the same.
The field behaves the same regardless of if I even select a file before clicking upload.
Any suggestions on how to track down what's wrong?

quicksketchWell that's certainly no good! :(
Obviously I wouldn't have made a new release if I didn't think things were working. Could you answer these questions?
- CCK/Drupal core version?
- Did you run update.php?
- Does this happen in all browsers?
Hmm, I can't think of many other questions. The description of the problem doesn't give me much to go on to try to guess what's wrong.

quicksketchAh, I thought of something else that's very important. Are you theming your FileFields? Try using Garland or BlueMarine and see if uploads work in that theme some of the added JavaScript expects a certain structure of the HTML.

tauno commentedAh! That was it. I had recently added some code to add some spans around buttons (for themeing). I think that was the culprit. I pulled that code and it's back to working.
I'll have to dig into the filefield code to see how (or if) I can safely alter my button theming code...
Thanks!

quicksketchExcellent! Thanks for the followup. We might also need to adjust the filefield.js file so that it is more resilient to changes in theming.

flndr commentedThis also happens in the Acquia Slate theme. When I changed to Garland this issue went away for me. This seems like a pretty critical issue.
quicksketchThe problem with Acquia Slate has been fixed in their queue. See #404160: File Upload does not work in Acquia Slate.

Anonymous (not verified) commentedThis also happens if you have Theme Developer enabled...

d.cox commentedHappens here too with theme developer enabled.

choy commentedI am confronted with the same phenomena, but cannot find a respond with none of the here proposed solutions or better said I get no idea where to find the line confusing my upload configuration without any error message. Every thing seems correctly configured, but nevertheless no way to upload ...
Is there any other hint to solve the problem?

dom_b commentedI have the same issue. Always happens to files over 1MB, except the odd file will upload successfully. Using Garland theme. Don't have Theme Developer module... PHP limits are well over file size. Any ideas?
