Running IIS

I have successfully added an LDAP server and it seems to have connected without a problem however when i try to log in with ldap credentials i get either a blank screen with firefox or an http error 500 with IE. No entries are ever added to the database and including watchdog and i have no entries in my IIS logs when i try to log in. I do get entries when i log in as the admin for drupal

Do you have php ldap extensions installed? Is ldap mentioned in the phpinfo() output?
