I think you are working on an awesome tool here that has a lot of potential outside of the PEG world - for organizations that run classes, businesses that rent equipment or vacation homes, colleges that book rooms for meetings, etc.

But your namespace needs to be jazzed up!

You could go with something like: facilities.module. This might draw more attention and better karma to the project, and its vocabulary that is understoood very widely across many industries.

Just my two cents, while I continue to lurk this project. Good luck!

Sean,

We spent a few hours looking for names that hadn't been used before we started this project, but because there have
been so many attempts to do this every name we came up already had something there. Initially we were going to build on Bookings API, but after evaluating that code we realized we needed to go in a different direction.

Since MERCI's reservation properties can be configured on any content type, any name implying it should be used for reserving facilities, camera equipment, classrooms, etc just seems too limiting. Not only does MERCI work as an acronym, but we liked because we'd like to think our interns and thanking DOM's users after every equipment checkout.

If you have some time to translate the notes we've made about the MERCI install process into a screencast, we'd really appreciate it. Since we're still in the process of implementing the beta version of the modules that make up the Open Media System at the 6 partner locations, so I doubt we'll be moving MERCI to a different namespace soon.

If you have time, you should make the trip to Denver for our Open Media Camp April 18-19th. All the cool kids (arthurf, aaron, Alex UA, and drewish as well as staff from at least 5 of the 5 partner stations) are coming. Hope to see you there!

+1 for a name change
Googling "drupal merci" from france doesn't return many useful results ;-)
