Issue Summary
IMHO, it would be more flexible and practical if restricted quantity is parameterized.
This module cannot be used for a special purpose, e.g. to restrict maximum buy is 4 items on certain products' types.
Thanks

I agree. If you could specify the maximum quantity customer's could purchase per product, it would be quite useful.
For example: You can buy only 1 of product A, but up to 3 of product B.

I think you can do this, but you have to add the "function" "restrict qty" to each product individually through the "feature" tab.I'd like to see this configurable for product classes so that you can set a class to have a default restrict qty. I am using this for "course registration" and it never makes sense (in our business case) to allow a user to buy more than one (at a time, or ever, though that is a different story for a different feature). What I am suggesting is that when you create a new product class you would be able to set a default restrict qty value for all products of that product class, though you could override it on a per product basis. One other thing is that it would be great to have the option to "hide qty if qty restriction is 1" in order to hide the qty from the cart and confirmation screens.woops, didn't notice this issue was drupal 5. My comment related to the drupal 6 version.

Marking as a duplicate of #416422: Add Default Qty Restrictions Per Each Product Class. New features will be added to the D6 branch and backported to D5.
