Description
I would like to get rid of *config* files for ldapauth and ldapdata in the similar way as it is done in ldapgroups #318174: Make LDAP Group to Role mapping configurable via web interface and move this functionality to the UI section. This would mean that no file editing will be required in the feature, also separate configuration could be set for a different ldap servers.

I have committed the changes to the cvs. Would appreciate testing of the new code.

I gave this a try. It doesn't break the authentication part of ldap auth, but the groups part doesn't work at all for me. I made a comment at:

Just updated LDAP integration to 6.x-1.x-dev (2009-Mar-19) and I'm glad I no more have to take care about backing up and restoring the ldapdata.conf.php file. The new Attributes GUI box at admin/settings/ldap/ldapdata works fine for me! Thank you Miglius.

Closing this as fixed.

The LDAP entry page is now visible when no attribute is configured. With one attribute configured but made not readable and not editable, the page is invisible as before.

Can you retest it with the latest code? I cannot confirm it. I see "LDAP entry" tab only if I have at least one writable attribute configured.

Closing this as fixed because haven't received a feedback, please reopen in case there are still issues.
