How to configure email notifications for Organic Groups

Right, I'm totally stuck trying to configure email notifications for Organic Groups. I'd always assumed that the email notifcations worked automatically, but recently discovered that you need to install extra modules to get this functionality.
So I've followed a couple of tutorials to get this working, but still not seeing any emails getting generated.
Can anyone point me to a guide or series of instructions to get email notifications configured for my organic groups?

Hi
If you tell us what modules you have now ie have you got notifications? I'm sure you'll get some pointers here.
Hi Ludo Well, I've got the OG
Hi Ludo
Well, I've got the OG modules installed and activated. I've got OG notifications, the Notifications and Messaging modules and the Simple Mail messaging type enabled as the delivery method.
That...
..Sounds about right. What specific problems are you encountering?
OG modules ??
There is only 1 OG module! Have you "jumped the gun" ?
I'm talking about sub-modules
I'm talking about sub-modules like OG Views Integration, OG Actions, OG Notifications that exist within Organic Groups. Hopefully no guns were jumped!
Ok
Thats good! Do you have the Admin Menu installed? The only reason I ask that is that it adds a menu item "messaging and notification" that seems to make the whole thing easier.
Just installed the Admin Menu
Just installed the Admin Menu module. How does that help exactly?
In other news, I now seem to have a notifications tab on my user profile, but after adding some content, still no notifications have been sent. Any idea on how to configure the notifications and also troubleshoot if there's an issue with sending emails?
Go to
the messaging and notification tab on the admin menu, you should be able to troublshoot from there
Also stuck with email notifications..
I'm also stuck with getting email notifications from OG. I have the same modules installed as listed above, but i can't get the emails to move..
Does anyone know how to add a SMTP-server address to Simple Mail? I was able to add a server-address to Messaging PHPMailer via the Messaging & Notifications -menu (which also doesn't work after i updated it.. I have installed and configured it using the README-file..).
