Description

The installation instructions tell me "you must configure this module\'s "Table prefix" to match the value for $table_prefix in the config.php of the phpList installation". I found the $table prefix in the phplist config.php file however for the life of me I cannot find the location in the phplist.module file to put that information into.

The instructions also state "the database connection string for ther phpList database must be manuall added to your settings.php file". I cannot find a settings.php file in the phplist module folder

Please help this dummy! :-)

Hi webdzyner,

I cannot find the location in the phplist.module file to put that information into

Under "Site Configuration" in your Drupal navigation menu there is a 'phpList' option which is where you configure everything for this module.

the database connection string for ther phpList database must be manuall added to your settings.php file

settings.php is the core configuration file for Drupal (not for this module), found under sites/all/default, but that's a red herring now anyway. This action is no longer necessary and I have removed it from the help section. Thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks for the information Paul. I did visit site configuration and found the phplist option when I click it though it brings me right back to site configuration. I tried clicking the other liks in site configuration and they all work fine. I also tried switching to the garland theme thinking maybe it was a theme issue and that did not help either

Sorry Lori,

I can't help you there. Just done a new D6 installation myself and the phpList configuration appears instantly as it's supposed to. Anyone else watching this project got any ideas please??

i had the same issue except mine is with 6.x-1.0 (not dev).

when clicking "phplist" in the navigation menu (admin/settings/phplist) i see the main settings page (admin/settings) although the address bar shows the former. i figured if i could get to the settings page this is where i could set the table prefix and login info... but can't get there.

looking in phplist.module i see the things i think i should see in "function phplist_admin_settings()" but i just can't get a view of that page. this would seem to indicate some sort of permissions/role issues but nothing i can justify. i even tried logging in as user #1 and still had the same problem.

Hi jimbox,

As indicated on the project page, please use the D6-DEV version and *NOT* the D6-1.0 release. I guarantee you will have problems otherswise!

- Paul

Hey webdzyner,

I experienced just the same and it turned out that I forgot to set permissions for administrating phpList module. After setting these it just worked fine (at least I could set all the necessary informations, after that my site didn't work anymore, so deinstalled it, but that's another issue #350495: Password is set - no connection... again).

sin

EDIT: After all, I got it working by using alpha-numerical passwords. See README.TXT for more information.
