As I'm moving through the various menus configuring various elements of the site, the log is filling up with Access Denied errors.
For instance, when I click the Referrers menu, it generated the following log error
Type access denied
Date Sunday, December 11, 2005 - 00:23
User Visitor
Location /admin/logs/referrers
Referrer
Message admin/logs/referrers denied access.
Severity warning
I was not actually denied access to this section of the administration. Nor was I a "visitor" (my configured term for anoynmous). I was logged in at the time as an authenticated user and administrator with full access to everything.

xand commentedPlease check the IP address of the "Visitor". If it's not your IP address, then it might be a valid log.
It is possible that it's a browser toolbar you have installed, or something like that. Messages similar to this appear if, for example, the google toolbar is installed, and you have allowed it to collect information anonymously.

ckclarke commentedIt is me - I'm the only one on the site at the moment, as it's in development. I wasn't getting this error when I was using 4.6.x

Uwe Hermann commentedCannot reproduce in current HEAD. Must be some spider or Google Desktop Search or something else on your setup...

links commentedI am seeing a similar problem on my drupal installation after I upgraded to version 4.6.5. I exported my data from a mySQL 5 development database to a mySQL 4 production database (which probably wasn't the best idea, but I thought it was version 4 I was testing with) and now can access all the pages, but the log gets the access denied in the logs every time I access a page. This happens for my admin user and a test user.
I am mainly writing this to add further evidence that this is actually possible and not spider related. I can see each entry come up with the times and pages I am clicking on. I suspect that something has been modified incorrectly on my end and it is not a code bug in my case as I am not seeing this issue on the development site I brought it over from.

nigma3d commentedi too am seeing this problem after an upgrade to 4.6.5.
ckclarke commentedThis may or may not be related to Google toolbar on your browser. Does anyone else on here experiencing this problem have Google toolbar installed?
webchickI installed Google Toolbar, and even with all the "No, I don't give a crap about my privacy" options enabled I couldn't replicate this problem. Which is probably good, because the idea of something "phoning home" about every single page I visit doesn't exactly fill me with rainbows and kittens. :P
I suspect some sort of spyware component though that's doing this.
At any rate, I can't duplicate the problem so marking fixed.
