Are Submissions Stored inMySQL?

Description
We ran into a problem with sendmail not sending out e-mails on our server and lost all the e-mails that were sent via online forms for the past day.
I know the webforms module stores the submissions in MySQL. Does the email module do that by chance? If so, where are they stored?
