Description

hi there -- I am eagerly implementing mail2web in drupal 6.10. (I noticed that one of the modules I installed was still in "Dev" version for 6.x -- Mimemail.

My problem is that at the point where I create a new forum topic (which would hopefully result in an email being sent to my account that had subscribed) ... directly after I hit the submit button on creating a forum topic, I get a pure white screen with the following text: "messaging_message-notifications".

my process was the following, a drupal dev guy helped me chart this method:

1. installed and enabled these:
mail2web
mailhandler
messaging
mimemail
notifications
smtp
token

2. configured a mailhandler mailbox using ssl and therefore I heard that I should put "/ssl/novalidate-cert" in the extra commands. Note that the way that my mail server works, the username of the account has to be dlist1+localdev.net. I hope that strange "+" sign isn't a problem.

3. set the messaging method to Mime Mail

4. set notifications to notify poster of own posts and immediate sending.

5. configured mail2web... no message cleaner...

6. setup SMTP (and the test email successfully was sent and I got it)

7. created a forum

8. in user -> notifications, subscribed to the type "forum topic"

9. created a forum post... and when I hit submit, I get the white screen with "messaging_message-notifications"

Can you tell me a likely fix for my problem? thanks!

Could you try to narrow down where the problem is coming from? You could do this by disabling the mimemail module, and testing. Then, disabling the SMTP module (and use some free email account, like gmail (see http://drupal.org/node/125408#comment-522882 for setting up mailhandler with gmail)) and see if you still get the error.

The white screen w/ the messaging text sounds like something might have some debug code left in it.

Thanks, let me know how it goes.

Hi Ian -- you know what, I have done continuing learning since I posted this request, and it is no longer relevant. I realize that there were many specific odd things about that installation. I have since then started with a fresh installation, and have had some progress, though still some problems, which I will report in a separate note --

So, for now, can you delete this issue? it is no longer relevant.

thanks!

Switch to mailcomment project. Mail2web is now known as "mailcomment" due to a trademark issue with the name mail2web.
