"The selected file D:\xampp\tmp\xxwhatever.tmp could not be uploaded, because the destination is not properly configured" - is the error I get after attempting select by browse, multiple select - Java script seems to work - progress bar & all - but no thumbnails below selection window afterwards & error msg @ refresh
any clues?

I had the same problem. I changed the Temporary directory to /tmp in Administer > Site Configuration > File System and that solved it. I had files/temp as the Temporary directory previously; appears this module defaults to /tmp as the Temporary directory.
