Hello,
I've searched but haven't been able to find documentation on creating a contact page (I'm sure there is some and I've missed it). For another site that I was working on, I was able to create a "Contact Us" page but I just can't seem to remember how I did it while trying to create one for the second page. I have the "Contact Me" link on the side of each page but when I click it, it takes me the create content page. This one really has me confused.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Thank you for the link to the documentation. I read through it and I'm still having some issues. I would like to just start over. What would be the best way to "undo" all that I have done so far regarding the contact page? I
Thanks for your help.
What have you done so far?
What do you need to undo?
The reason I'm wanting to
That's part of the problem....I'm not sure what all I've done and not sure what to look for that needs to be "undone". :)
The reason I'm wanting to start over is because I worked on it so much, last night, and a little this morning, that I'm a little more confused than when I started. I was just wanting to start from scratch so I can get a good understanding of what I did wrong and the proper way of doing it.
Thanks for the reply
If you were using the Contact Module
If you were using the Contact Module and want to start afresh, go into Administer -> Site Building -> Contact Form and delete any contact forms you may have created.
That should allow you to start afresh, if I understand you correctly.
What's confusing you? What are you trying to accomplish?
Thanks, again, for the

I'm attempting to setup a "Contact Me" page with a link to it on the front page. I've gotten as far as getting the link on the front page of the site but when I click on it, it takes me to the create content page. I was able to do this on another site that I built but for the life of me I don't remember what I did to get it working correctly. I'm sure that I'm just missing a step somewhere along the line.
Thanks!
Okay, I think I removed all
Okay, I think I removed all the "junk" that I created. Now, let's see if I can get the steps right, this time, and get a contact form on my site.
Thanks for your help!

Do you want
Do you want a contact form or just a page with contact information on it?
A contact form.
A contact form.
OK, once you've cleaned everything up
Try and follow the directions I gave you in the link above step by step and tell me where you get stuck.
Thank you very much for your
Thank you very much for your help. I will walk through the steps, again, and will let you know where the confusion starts.
didn't take long
Well, that didn't take long.
I activated the contact module and then went to Site Building -> Contact Form. Now, here's where I get a little confused. It tells me that I need to create a category. Okay, so I create a category call "Contact". After this completes, I now have a "Contact Me" link under Contact Form. When I click on the Contact Me link, it takes to the Create Content page where it lists Page and Story. From this point, I'm just going to stop because I've obviously done something wrong.
Thanks
What do you mean
What do you mean you have a Contact Me link under Contact Form? Where does this link appear?
The category allows you to specify if you want people to send you emails about different subjects, and for emails on different topics to go to different email addresses. Say you're creating a contact form and you want website feedback to go to the Webmaster, sales to go to the sales department, etc, you would do all this by creating a category for each.
So say you just want the subject to be Feedback. Create a category and enter the following:
Category: Feedback
Recipients: your email address
Then save the form.
Now go into Administer -> Site Building -> Menu, and click on Navigation.
You'll see Contact on the list, but it's greyed out. Click on "edit" that's at the end of the line. Enter the following in the fields:
Menu Link Title: Contact Us
Check the box that says "Enabled"
Parent Item: Scroll down and select "Primary Link" or leave it at Navigation if that's where you want it to appear
Click Save
You should now see a Contact Us link in whichever menu you choose (Primary Links or Navigation). Clicking on that should take you to your new Contact form.
If you want people who are not logged in to be able to access the contact form you need to go into permissions and enable access for anonymous users.
Hope this helps.
I will try this. Thanks!
I will try this.
Thanks!
Okay, I followed what you
Okay, I followed what you wrote and was able to create the form and the link is in Navigation. It's on the front page but like before, when I click on the link, instead of it taking me to the contact form to fill out, it takes me to the Contact Form where I would add a category. The link directs me to http://chadmccullough.net/admin/build/contact instead of http://chadmccullough.net/contact.
Thanks
a little headway, maybe?
I think I may have figured out part of the issue. I believe the contact form link is pointing to the wrong location. I was able to finally get the Contact link on the front page of my site. When I hover my mouse above the Contact link on the front page, it shows that it's directing the user to http://chadmccullough.net/admin/build/contact. This isn't correct, is it? If it's not, where would I go to change this? On my other site where I actually, somehow, got this working, it's pointing to http://cmccullough.net/contact.
Thanks.
Did you go into the Menu page
and do the steps to enable the contact page menu item? It should point to /contact.
Hmm... if you continue having this problem, email me and I'll see if I can fix it for you. Just use the contact form on my user page here.
great! thanks for your
great! thanks for your help!
Think I figured it out!
I think I "may" have figured it out. I one extra Contact Form listed in Navigation but I have it disabled. There's no delete option so I'm not going to worry about. I'll try to figure out to remove it some other time
Thanks, again, for your help.
no problem
Post back here if you still have problems with it.
