I am new to drupal and php. I just got it installed and working on stuff. I am at content type and there is now story or page. Is there a way to fix this I thought they were standard.

May I know have you mistakenly deleted both of it?

Anyway, You can always create new content type and name it "Page" and "Story". The differences are Page not allow comment and Story allow comment by default. That's all. Anything else, they are replaceable.
