When my pattern runs, I get a very generic error, 'pattern failed', so I have no idea where it failed or what caused it. Could you output a little more info, like what action/module it's working on when the error occurs?

As a side note, when using patterns at installation, it tells me the pattern failed, but then says it was successful in the final screen.

To the best of my knowledge, patterns always give you details about where and when error happened. Could you please, provide a screenshot and more details about the case you are talking about.

I believe your side note refers to patterns installation profile. If so, I would request you to report this in the appropriate issue queue so that others can easily find it.

The error turned out to be a duplicate email address in a user declaration.

And good point, I'll post the other as a separate issue, sorry.

After seeing the screen shot I realized this is the issue with installation profile not patterns module itself. Moving it to Patterns Installation Profile issue queue.

As I originally mentioned, patterns module is reporting all the errors properly, but unfortunately when integrated with install profile all the errors disappear. Until this is fixed you can follow the same advice I have given in comment #2 in #410240: Pattern installation profile falsely reports successful completion.

I'm quite busy at the moment with patterns module and several other projects and I'm not sure how soon I will be able to look into this, so any help in fixing this issue would be greatly appreciated.
