Issue Summary
I've been looking for something like this.
I'm working on a public interest website.
On my site it would a great feature to have... write your congressman, write the president, write your councilman, etc.
Then in the Mysql have a database of the respective addresses, emails, etc.
I think from what I saw on your site you are pretty close to that now.
In other words, from my site I would like to facilitate communicate by email, letters (snail mail), by fax and by telephone.
Then allow users to do a sort search for who and how many of who they wanted to contact.

It can do that now with a few text changes. We did that for http://georgiademocrat.org a while back to contact all of the presidential campaigns. In the future, I intend to set it up as a node module, though, so you can have multiple campaigns running at any given time. That'll take some time for me to do, however.

The US congress has gone nuts. They ignore Email entirely, and they don't answer their phones.
The preponderance of physical snail mail letters cramming their mail boxes is pretty well the last resort.
Sure hope you pick up on this for extended use.

I've been looking into alternatives, but I think it's pretty much dead as far as this module is concerned. The only way this could be done is if some company that sends direct mail and/or faxes opens up a usable API. Frankly, we'd be better flooding their offices with people than letters and faxes, though.

I'm trying to accomplish something similar but a little more focused. We are a State PAC and want to have all of our users write to their state representatives on specific issues. I'd like to give them a link in an email that leads them to a page with a pre-written letter, already addressed to their reps (from the DB), asking them to vote for or against a certain issue. Users should be able to modify the pre-written copy if they like, then click the send button on the page to send the email(s) and record their action in the DB.
I'm more or less convinced that I'm going to have to resort to CCK & Views to accomplish this but I still really don't get CCK and don't do PHP, so I'm hopeful of finding a module to accomplish this.
You last comment wasn't too encouraging but I thought I'd ping the thread, just in case.
