Sections are not working on the "my account" page. I added users/* and user/* to the section, but it is not working.

Any suggestions?

actually it isn't working at all. I have installed it on D6.10, with pathauto. Does selecting a "administration theme" effect anything?

"administration theme" take precedence over sections. You need to disable "administration theme". See http://drupal.org/node/402624#comment-1361856 for the workaround.
