Action Email Role and triggering question

First of all thanks for this module a lot!
My question is how can it work with the generic trigger module. Trigger doesn't allow you to select which content type is triggered for the related action. Which means for every posted content (irrelevant of which content type) it triggers the action. In the "action email role" settings I limit the action to a specific content type. However the trigger module will send the request for any type of post (and probably the "action email role" will discard all other requests except the selected content type....I guess). Is that right? Does that mean that I need the Rules module instead of triggers so that I don't stress the server without any reason (send wasted requests). Is there a bigger picture I am missing and all those assumptions are not valid maybe?
