Description
It would be helpful to have a setting in the configuration section that lets an admin put in a time in minutes to extend auction after last bid. This is to keep snipers from ruining auctions. For example, let's say I enter 5 minutes as an extend time. If someone bids 5 seconds before an auction closes, the auction is extended for another 4 minutes and 55 seconds.
It would be a feature that I think many would want to use. Thanks!

I have the same need/desire. I'm doing some reasearch on it now, if you want to split the cost and 'release it into the wild' let me know.

Hmm… interesting idea. This could probably be implemented purely with the API. Are there any major auction sites or programs which do something like this currently?

I like this idea, but I'd change it slightly -- I'd have the auction automatically extend by the admin-set amount ONLY if a bid is placed within a specified time prior to the auction ending.
For example, you could set it so that if the last bid occurs within 30 seconds of the auction close, the auction is extended by five minutes. If there are no bids within 30 seconds of the auction ending, it will end normally at the preset time.
It is probably also a good idea to set the number of times this extension could occur -- otherwise if a sniper keeps trying to bid at the last second, the auction could last forever, and people will be very annoyed.

I'm still interested, but I will suggest that there's no limit to the number of extensions. Having no limit will allow a product to reach the real market value, and eventually it will expire and sell. Once it does, it will be at a higher, market driven price, and the seller will be happier.

When the robot packages the next dev release, install it, then head to your module installation page for a little present. It's a simple implementation, but it seems to work.

Excellent! I'm testing it now. Thanks,
