XML sitemap is crucial module for any site owner, it is essential leap over Joomla or others.
While I am not a n00bie, I can't see what is recomended version for production D6 sites.
Please clarify on front page which version work for D6 clearly and why other versions exists (6.x-0.x dev, 6.x-1.x dev and 6.x-2.x dev).
I think I understand but it is far from obvious as page is lengthy and full of info but Additional Notes are unclear which version should be used and what are others for.
I tried various 1.x and even 2.x, cleared tables and removed any previous, but always run into problem and was forced to remove it.
I'm using latest Drupal 6.10.

avpadernoThe 6.x-1 branch is the one currently developed; the 6.x-2 branch will be developed later, and there isn't any public release for that branch.

turin commentedCan't you just _make_a_release_? Don't you understand the difficulty in the situation where each day I get a message from update module that there is a new version of xmlsitemap and I should upgrade. And I go ahead, upgrade it and once again your module forces sitemap update.... Several thousand nodes updating, updating, updating....
I know you're developing the 6.x-1 branch and that is just great, but please, PLEASE make a release on which update module should stay on! That means a 'recommended' release. It won't be PERFECT, but that's OK. Nothing is, anyway ;)
Then make all the working releases you want to, publish them each day etc... But have at least one (a bit) stable (I mean 'stable' as 'non changing') version.
With these multiple updates and no stable release we're risking our sites uptime each time we update (and we update because update module tells us "Look, there is a newer version of xmlsitemap and there is no other stable version, so that means you shold update NOW)... And that is a bad web practice and it sucks, really.

NickLitten commenteduninstall any newer versions.... download install the 6x.0x.dev and it will work fine. I'm using this on several live Droop6.10 sites and it works perfectly. I understand your frustration with the status of the various releases, and I feel the same way but I've discovered through trial and error that using the '0' release is the way to go... at least until either the 6x-1x or 6x-2x makes it into live.
As the 6x-0x-dev seems to work fine I would like to see this as the current production release - It would save a lot of confusion....
cheers.

shiroitatsu commented6x-0x-dev don't add panels and doesn't support additional links, so it's not really a working alternative.
