Description

I'm just setting up bitcache and am stuck at the Path to Bitcache executable setting. The default is set to tools/bin/bit but the directory tools does not exist.

I tried installing bitcache from the gems repository using but get this error:

[root]~$ gem install bendiken-bitcache --source http://gems.github.com -r
Need to update 1 gems from http://gems.github.com
.
complete
ERROR:
  While executing gem ... (Gem::GemNotFoundException)
    Could not find bendiken-bitcache (> 0) in the repository

I tried gem list -r --source http://gems.github.com but do not find anything "bitcache" in the list, either.

What am I missing? I'm running debian with ruby 1.9 and rubygems installed via apt-get.

Thanks
Stefan

I have the same problem. Is there a solution?

The short answer is, you don't need the command-line tools for normal Bitcache use; just ignore the setting altogether.

The longer answer is, the command-line tools aren't quite up to speed yet; I will make them easily installable as soon as possible.

Sorry if I hijack the original question then but is there another way of "importing" a large number of files into a bitcache repository instead of "uploading" all of them again. I have a tree structure of files that I'd love to make availible.
