Will this be possible to provide custom URL submission? Say, I don't want to upload and convert videos through browser, instead just prefer to ftp the videos and grab the urls to be placed in the input form? Will filefield or link.module be any good? Thanks

FlashVideo module is all about user-submitted video content. What you're doing sounds more like a job for a CCK module like Embedded Media Field.

Yes, but I prefer the features that flashvideo already has, amazon S3, ffmpeg, customizable templates, etc for future usage. It allows me later to upload videos directly through browsers and do all the conversions necessary only when we are ready enough to migrate to a dedicated server. In the meantime while we develop I need another solution in a shared hosting:) It might reduce the problem of moving into another module. I don't choose swftools either for the same reason.

I ask about filefield or link modules, because I see that flashvideo also allows the overrides. But since I have no idea how, I'd better ask if this will be any good even to expect. Thanks for kind reply.
