Hi Michelle,

This may sound a little weird, but a couple of us have come up with a scenario that requires a feature that I think would roll in well with apk. Maybe a separate module would be a better route, but I wanted to recommend it for apk.

There are a few scenarios, crm being one, that would require that users, depending on their role, should only be able to see profiles of a specific role. I have another scenario... I am working on a site that showcases models. The models have their profiles. Anonymous and authenticated users should be able to see their own profile and the model profiles, but not other authenticated users' profiles or any other roles' profiles.

Please let me know if this is a feature that could be added to apk or if this should be a separate module. Also, I'm willing to do some of the programming, but I'm still not so good.

You can do this on a pane by pane basis by saying what roles can view it. I don't believe you can set it for the entire page. This would be a Panels feature request if you want to move it over there.

By viewing of the profile I was talking about the user account page. I think it more closely related to apk then panels. I might not have been clear in my question.

No, it's definitely a Panels question. Unless you're talking about using APK without Panels, in which case I have no idea anyway.
